Coroner clears Dowen College and students in Sylvester Oromoni’s death

The coroner overseeing the Sylvester Oromoni case, Mikhail Kadiri, has cleared Dowen College and its students of any wrongdoing in the tragic death of the late student.

Following a two-year inquiry and a six-hour proceeding at a magistrate court in the Lagos’sOgba area of Lagois, Kadiri attributed Oromoni’s demise to sepsis resulting from infections of the lungs and kidneys caused by an ankle injury.

While parental and medical negligence were identified as contributing factors, Dowen College and its students were absolved of direct responsibility.

Oromoni was laid to rest on Saturday at the family’s compound at Ogbe-Ijoh, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta, after two years of fighting for justice.
