Renowned Sheikh establishes Islamic Radio/TV station, school in Katsina
Story from Najiɓullahi SANI
A renowned Katsina State based Islamic scholar Sheikh Yahaya Masussuka has established an Islamic Television and Radio station in Katsina State.
The cleric also established a junior and senior secondary school for learning Western education in the Dutsinma local government area of the state.
Commissioning the Television and Radio station known as Qur’an TV/Radio over the weekend, the cleric explained that the idea to establish the media outfit was meant to propagate his preachings and that of other fellow clerics.
According to him, conventional media does not give prominence to religious activities as they have a lot of political programmes, hence the need for the establishment of media outfits for religious programmes.
Our correspondent reports that the cleric, alongside the media house, also commissioned a junior and senior secondary school known as Masussuka International School, all in Dutsinma of Katsina state.
He said the school would give students access to both Qur’anic and Western education at the same time.
