The street where Bello’s residence is located was heavily secured by dozens of EFCC operatives, prohibiting any movement in and out of the area. Daily Trust’s correspondent on the scene noted the serious demeanor of the anti-graft agency’s operatives as they maintained strict control over the situation.
While the reason for their presence was initially unclear, the EFCC official, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that the operation was aimed at arresting the former governor in connection with the ongoing N84 billion fraud case against him.
Despite the tense circumstances, Governor Ododo’s visit to Yahaya Bello exemplifies a display of unity and support during challenging times.
