Crazy news coming from Romanian football. Former Barcelona defender Edgar Ié under investigation for putting his twin brother play in his place.
Romanian club Dinamo Bucuresti is conducting an investigation into allegations that defender Edgar Ié may have had his twin brother Edelino play in his place for a period of approximately five games this season,according to reports.
Suspicions started to come to the forefront when Edgar Ié did not speak English, only Portuguese, even though he has played in the Netherlands, Spain, and France.
If found to be guilty of what has been accused, Dinamo Bucharest could have eight points deducted, according to Marca.

He continued, in shock: ‘I wondered if he was still sleeping, and I started making phone calls, talking to friends. The news is true, I can’t believe it.
‘Nobody denied it. I found out that he has a twin brother who also plays soccer.’
According to Romanian journalist, Emanuel Rosu, the club asked the player in question to provide his driving license to prove his identity.
However, he refused, which has only seen suspicions grow stronger.
Edgar Ie started his professional career with Barcelona after coming through the youth system at Sporting CP.
He only made one appearnce for the Catalan giants, though, spending most of his time with Barcelona B.
In 2015, the defender left the club, playing for seven clubs, including the likes of Lille, Trabzonspor, and Feyenoord, before moving to Romania
The former Barcelona man signed for the Red Dogs in February, but has seemingly forced his brother fill in for him.
There are no offical statements, as yet, from Dynamo on what the Guinea-Bissau international is alleged to have done.
