EPL: Top guy, very good friend – Havertz names Arsenal player that helped him

Kai Havertz has named Arsenal captain, Martin Odegaard as the player who helped him adapt to life at the Emirates.

Havertz was among the numerous players who left Chelsea last summer and he headed to the Blues rivals, Arsenal.

He signed for the Gunners in a £65 million deal last summer and the 24-year-old has shone in his debut season at the Emirates.

But he picked up slowly at Arsenal amid much criticism over his move from Stamford Bridge.

The Germany International now has 13 goals and seven assists in 50 games across competitions.

“The skipper, Martin (Odegaard). I remember I was on holiday when I signed and he just dropped me a message 10 minutes after the news came out and just said ‘whatever you need, just give me a shout’.

“He’s a top guy, and a very good friend,” Havertz told Sky Sports when asked which of his teammates made him feel most welcome.
