Today in History: The Ozubulu Massacre

On August 6, 2017, armed men attacked St. Philip’s Catholic Church in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo LGA, Anambra State, during Sunday service. They killed fifteen worshippers and left many others severely injured.

Thirteen adults and two children were tragically killed at Amakwa Ozubulu Catholic Church without any apparent reason. Seven years later, no one has been held accountable for this horrendous act.

Igbo highlife musician, Ayaka Ozubulu eulogized them in his song “Ozubulu Massacre” by calling their names one by one.
