Kidnapped Girl smuggled through States inside a ‘Ghana-Must-Go’ bag rescued by Police detectives

The Rivers State Police Command has rescued a teenage girl who was

State Police Commissioner Olatunji Disu revealed the details during a press briefing in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

He explained that the victim had been repeatedly assaulted by her captors after being transported to Port Harcourt.

The crime came to light when officers from the Abuloma Police Station received a tip-off about suspicious activity involving one of the suspects.

Following the intelligence, police were able to locate and rescue the victim.

Disu said: “Upon receiving the information, operatives were swiftly dispatched to the area, and they arrested one male suspect.

“Officers rescued the teenage girl (name withheld) who had been held against her will by the suspect.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect lured the teenager from her residence in Garki, Enugu, placed her in a ‘Ghana-Must-Go’ bag and transported her from Enugu to Port Harcourt.”

The police commissioner added that, the victim was taken to the residence of an alleged internet fraudster, after arriving in Port Harcourt, adding that the alleged fraudster and another suspect repeatedly had defiled the teenager.

He said: “The victim has undergone medical examination and treatment, while the suspects are in our custody.”
