Easter: Plateau Speaker Dewan Preaches Peace, Love, Patience, Sacrifice, Tolerance

Speaker of the Plateau House of Assembly, RT Hon Gabriel Dewan has felicitated with citizens of the state and Nigerians, especially Christians, marking the 2024 Easter celebration in remembrance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

He enjoined Christians in the state and Nigerians to use the opportunity of the celebration to engage in prayers for the country and successes of the Present administrations at both state and national levels.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Jos, Hon. Dewan who represents Pankshin North in the state assembly noted that Easter is one of the most important events in the Christian calendar which is to celebrate the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

“I appealed to all to practice the Christian virtues of sacrifice, patience, love and abiding faith in order for us as Nigerians to have a better tomorrow which has been symbolized in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.”

The occasion of Easter, he said, teaches mankind two things; good things never end and true love never dies.

He implored Christians “This is a time to pray to God and ask him to shower endless love, joy, and peace in our state and country.”

He expressed confidence that Plateau is on the path to recovery and long-term progress,under Governor Caleb Mutfwang , Let us rally and support him at all times.”

“Let us also continue to support the Government in its efforts to provide good governance ,security and an enabling environment for economic growth and prosperity.”

“The 10th Plateau Assembly has stayed focused on its duties and has been providing legislative support to government its policies as well as the people of the state.

“We would continue to provide quality legislation to the people of Plateau state”, he added.
