Ondo Guber; What did you go to discuss in secret meeting with Tinubu – PDP stalwart asks National Chairman

Kola Ologbondiyan, a former spokesperson for the PDP, has taken aim at the party’s National Chairman, Umar Damagum, over accusations of a secret meeting with President Bola Tinubu.

He has demanded that Damagum break his silence and provide a clear explanation to address the allegations.

In a signed statement, he urged party leaders to reclaim the PDP from what he described as Damagum’s “grip and that of his allies,” emphasizing that such a move is essential to revitalizing the party’s role as a formidable opposition force.

He said: “How can the head of the leading opposition party be accused of ‘nicodemously’ meeting with the President of the ruling government, and he would have no response to provide?”

Raising concerns about the PDP’s defeat in Saturday’s Ondo State governorship election, Kola Ologbondiyan warned that upcoming off-season elections in Anambra, Ekiti, and Osun could face similar outcomes as those in Kogi, Imo, and Ondo unless the party reinstates its substantive National Chairman.

“It is reprehensible that the Acting National Chairman is supervising the dishevelling of the party.

“Amb. Damagun has the least of interest in working for the success of the party in any election,” he added.
