JUST IN; Davido comes under fire over Nigeria’s economy comment in US
Joe Igbokwe, a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC), has criticised singer Davido for advising Americans against moving to Nigeria.
In a recent interview on an American podcast, Davido cautioned U.S. citizens not to consider relocating to Africa, particularly Nigeria, due to what he described as the country’s struggling economy.
In response, Igbokwe has called for Davido to retract his statement, emphasising that Nigeria played a crucial role in shaping the artist’s success and identity.
On his Facebook page, he wrote, “My in-law Davido has made me sad by telling the world in America that Nigeria’s economy is in shambles. This is very sad. I will advise him to retract the statement ASAP. Nigeria made Davido. QED!!!”
