Accompanied by his legal counsel Fabio Fulgeri, De Laurentiis appeared before deputy prosecutor Giuseppe Cascini at the FIGC prosecutor’s office in Rome.

During the 90-minute interrogation, De Laurentiis was grilled over the details of Osimhen’s transfer and its financial intricacies, particularly focusing on allegations of false accounting.

The transfer, which took place in September 2020, raised eyebrows due to its reported value of €76,356,819, inclusive of the apparent market worth of four players who moved to Lille as part of the deal.

Investigators suspect foul play in the valuation of these players, totaling approximately €20 million, with specific amounts attributed to Ciro Palmieri, Orestis Karnez, Luigi Liguori, and Claudio Manzi.

Should the allegations hold, Napoli faces the prospect of hefty fines or even points deductions, as reported by Italian publication Il Messaggero.

Meanwhile, Napoli are currently languishing in 8th place on the league standings after 30 matches this season.
