Former CBN Governor Emefiele gets N50m bail
The Lagos State special offences court in Ikeja on Friday granted bail to the former Central Bank Governor Godwin Emefiele.
Emefiele has been granted bail in the sum of N50m after being charged with a 26-count bordering on alleged abuse of office and irregular allocation of $4.5 billion and N2.8 billion respectively.
Emefiele was also admitted to bail with two sureties in like sum by Justice Rahmon Oshodi on Friday.
Recently, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) filed 26-count charge against Emefiele.

The charges revolve around allegations of abuse of office and corruption.
The charges include accusations of accepting gratifications, receiving gifts through intermediaries, corruption, receipt of fraudulently obtained property, and providing corrupt benefits to his associates, as stated in the Corrupt Practices Act of 2000.
