Adamawa man arrested for stealing car during Eid prayer
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested one Ibrahim Ali for stealing a car on Wednesday morning in Yola.
The suspect committed the crime when Muslims were marking the end of the Ramadan fasting season.
The car thief, who hails from Ngurore in Yola South LGA, has confessed to taking the car from somewhere in Jimeta.
According to a statement by the state police public relations officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the suspect was arrested earlier on Wednesday.
The statement explained that police operatives attached to the Ngurore Divisional Police Headquarters got on to the suspect during routine stop-and-search operations.
The suspect was arrested with the stolen car, a Toyota Starlet with a Jimeta (Yola North LGA) registration number JMT 317 RY.
