Ibrahim Abubakar, a 33-year-old butcher residing in Sabon Gari-Futy of Girei LGA in Adamawa State, has been arrested for fatally stabbing his 25-year-old wife, Hajara Sa’adu.
The gruesome incident unfolded during a heated argument sparked by accusations that his wife had taken away his mobile phone.
Sulaiman Yahaya, the spokesperson for the Adamawa State Police Command, revealed that Ibrahim Abubakar’s wrath descended upon his wife in the early hours of April 8, 2024, at approximately 4:30 am.
Armed with a sharp knife, he mercilessly attacked his wife, inflicting severe wounds on her back and leaving her sprawled in a pool of her own blood.
Tragically, the wife and mother of their only child, succumbed to her injuries, plunging her loved ones into an abyss of grief and despair.
Following a report lodged by the deceased’s father, the police swiftly apprehended Ibrahim Abubakar.
Subsequent investigations at the crime scene showed evidence linking the butcher to the heinous act.
Despite initial denial, Ibrahim Abubakar eventually confessed to the brutal murder of his wife, expressing remorse for his actions.
The Police confirmed that Ibrahim Abubakar would face prosecution as investigations continue to unfold.
