Another Nollywood actor, Junior Pope Odonwodo, known as Jnr Pope, has passed away.
He tragically died on Wednesday afternoon, April 10 while shooting a film in Asaba, the capital of Delta State.
Reports indicate that he lost his life in a boating accident, where the boat capsized, resulting in his drowning along with two other actors who have yet to be identified.
His body was recovered and taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Delta State Chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Emma Onyemeziem, has confirmed that Junior Pope’s body has been taken to the morgue.
Junior Pope’s passing adds to the series of tragedies that have afflicted Nollywood this year.
Just last month, esteemed actors like Mr. Ibu and Sisi Quadri also passed away. In January, it was Deji Aderemi, famously known as Olofa Ina, and in February, Ethel Ekpe, renowned for her portrayal of ‘Segi’ on the Nigerian Television Authority sitcom, ‘Basi and Company’, left us.
