Angry protest breaks out as Man dies after brutal attack inside Hotel
30-year-old Olamide Akinolu, has been confirmed dead after being brutally assaulted by unknown assailants at Osas Hotel in the Wadoye community, Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.
According to reports, Akinolu had visited the hotel to meet a man to whom he had paid N50,000 for the rental of musical instruments. However, he was reportedly attacked by a group of individuals shortly after arriving. The incident took place around 12:40 pm on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola confirmed the tragedy on Wednesday, revealing that the victim’s father had reported the assault to the Ajuwon Police Division.
Akinolu was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
She said, “He sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital, where the doctor pronounced him dead.
“This prompted a group of people to organise an attack on the hotel.
“The hotel manager was injured, and several instruments were damaged during the violence. Our officers were dispatched to the scene to restore order.
“Meanwhile, the body has been taken to a mortuary in Olambe for examination and autopsy.”
