Another billionaire visits flood ravaged Maiduguri donates N1.5bn to victims

Business magnate, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has donated N1.5bn to assist victims of the recent flooding that rocked major parts of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

96-year-old Dantata, made the donation during a visit to the Borno State Government House on Tuesday, where he led a delegation from Kano.

He offered his condolences to Governor Babagana Zulum and the people of Borno, particularly those who lost loved ones in the disaster.

Expressing concern over the nation’s economic decline, Dantata called on the country’s elites and political leaders to repent and act with integrity, urging them to fear Allah in their dealings.

He also prayed for peace and harmony in Borno and across Nigeria.

While reacting, Governor Zulum expressed deep gratitude to Dantata for his generous contribution and compassionate visit, recognising it as a powerful gesture of solidarity and hope during these difficult times.

Zulum said: “The people of Borno deeply appreciate this show of humanity by a 96-year-old to visit us. Let me say it, Our Baba has donated the sum of N1.5 billion to support the flood victims. May Allah bless and reward you with Aljannah. Mu gode, Baba.”

Recall that Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Dantata’s nephew, had made a N1bn donation to the flood victims last week.
