However, that has not stopped talk about another fresh face coming in.
The Blues’ priority in the next transfer window is likely to be a centre-forward, though.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are waiting to clarify a few things before opening negotiations for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
Chelsea could have to pay £60m to sign Premier League midfielder
After signing Caicedo and Fernandez, Chelsea probably do not need to go out and spend big money on another midfielder.
Yet it appears to be something that the club are considering.
In February, it was claimed that Chelsea were already in talks with Everton about a potential deal for Amadou Onana.
And now Florian Plettenberg is reporting that it could cost up to €70m (£60m) to get the midfielder out of Goodison Park.

Onana has been a key player for Everton this season, making 31 appearances in all competitions.
What has Frank Lampard said about Amadou Onana?
Frank Lampard was the man who brought Onana to England, signing him from Lille when he was still Everton boss.
And based on his words on Onana, as a Chelsea supporter, it looks like Lampard would welcome the 22-year-old to Stamford Bridge.
“Amadou is a player we were really keen to bring to Everton,” Lampard told Everton’s official website after Onana’s arrival at Goodison Park in 2022. “He has many great qualities to help strengthen our midfield and, at just 20-years-old, has massive potential to get even better.
“I spoke to him about why Everton was the right club for him and we’re all looking forward to him showing what he can bring to the team.”
Again, though, having spent so much money on Caicedo, Fernandez and Lavia, perhaps Chelsea should be looking at a cheaper option to the Belgium international.
