Biden’s Camp Makes Key Request After Court Convicted Trump, Set to Sentence Him

President Joe Biden’s campaign emphasized that Donald Trump’s conviction by a New York court on Thursday was in line with the principle that “no one is above the law”.

Trump was found guilty of all 34 counts he faced, relating to charges of falsifying business records to commit election fraud. This unprecedented verdict makes the 77-year-old the first former American President to be criminally convicted.

A statement issued by Michael Tyler, the Biden-Harris campaign communications director, explicitly stated: “In New York today, we saw that no one is above the law.”

Tyler’s statement continued: “But today’s verdict does not change the fact that the American people face a simple reality. There is still only one way to keep Donald Trump out of the Oval Office: at the ballot box.”
