BREAKING; Five armed robbers who raided Bank killed 9 Police officers sentenced to death by hanging
Justice Haleema Salma of the Kwara State High Court has convicted five suspects involved in the Offa Bank robbery.
The court found them guilty of charges including illegal possession of firearms, armed robbery, culpable homicide, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
The dastardly bank robbery took place on April 5, 2018 where about 32 persons, including nine policemen were killed.
According to Haleema, “No evidence from the defendants that they are licensed to carry arms”,as they are also guilty of illegal possession of firearms.”
The judge indicated that the offenses in question carry a death penalty.
This follows a protracted six-year trial involving six defendants connected to the Offa robbery case, which resulted in the deaths of over 30 individuals in the community on April 5, 2018.
