BREAKING; NNPCL deploys 100 trucks to Dangote Refinery for Petrol loading
On Saturday, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) announced that it has dispatched 100 trucks, with many more en route, to the Dangote refinery, which processes 650,000 barrels per day, in preparation for the start of petrol loading on Sunday.
The company will begin loading the first batch of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from the refinery on that day. According to a post on NNPCL’s official X account, over 100 of its trucks have already arrived at the Dangote refinery in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State.
“In preparation for the Dangote Refinery’s scheduled petrol loading on Sunday, September 15, 2024, NNPC Ltd. has been mobilizing trucks to the refinery’s fuel loading gantry in Ibeju-Lekki.
“As of Saturday afternoon, NNPC Ltd. had deployed over 100 trucks, with hundreds more en route,” NNPCL tweeted.
The Presidential Committee on the Sale of Crude Oil and Refined Products has confirmed that petrol lifting from the Dangote Refinery will begin on Sunday.
It also revealed that the refinery will exclusively sell petrol to the NNPCL.
Zacch Adedeji, a committee member and Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), added that starting October 1, the NNPCL will sell crude oil to the Dangote Refinery at a rate of 385,000 barrels per day, with payments made in Naira.
The refinery will be permitted to sell diesel to other buyers, but NNPCL will be the only purchaser of petrol from the facility.
