Chelsea boss Pochettino reveals how many years he needs to fix Chelsea

Mauricio Pochettino has admitted it may take him up to five years to fix Chelsea’s problems after the 2-2 draw against 20th-placed Sheffield United on Sunday.

Riding high from their dramatic 4-3 win against Manchester United on Thursday, Chelsea entered Sunday’s game against the league’s last-placed team with optimism.

Thiago Silva put Chelsea in the lead at Bramall Lane, and despite Jayden Bogle’s equalizer, Chelsea seemed poised for victory when Noni Madueke scored in the second half to regain the lead.

However, Chelsea’s struggles this season persisted as they were unable to maintain their lead, with Oli McBurnie scoring in the 93rd minute to snatch a draw for the team facing relegation.

Speaking after the match, Pochettino admitted that Chelsea could still be a five-year project.

“We are talking a lot,” Mauricio Pochettino said. “It is a new team with profiles in the squad that we are learning.

“The combination sometimes, that is why the process always takes time. It’s not a magic thing. It’s a project, a three or five-year process to build a team.

“We are in the semi-final of the FA Cup. We were not in a good position in the beginning. It is a normal process that has happened, we need to accept. We are working to try and fix this type of problem.”
