Crossdressers storm hill to protest and demand release of Bobrisky (Video)
A group crossdressers and women in Ikorodu, Lagos state, have staged a protest to demand the release of their celebrity colleague, Idris “Bobrisky” Okuneye from prison.
It was reported in April that a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos sentenced Bobrisky to six months in jail for mutilating the naira.
The socialite was convicted on April 12 and sentenced without the option of fine after he pleaded guilty. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had arraigned him on four counts of naira abuse and money laundering.
The court, earlier dismissed the money laundering charges but held that the conviction will serve as a deterrent to others who are fond of abusing the Nigerian currency.
On Monday, 27th of May, some transvestites and women climbed a hill in Ikorodu to beckon on the federal government to release Bob.
In a video making the rounds online, the protesters dressed in feminine clothing, held placards with inscriptions; “Free Bobrisky” “Mummy of Lagos”.
