Defence Headquarters reveals names of terrorist kingpins killed in northern Nigeria

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has disclosed the identities of terrorist kingpins who were neutralized during various operations in the northern region of Nigeria.

According to the DHQ, the high-ranking terrorists were eliminated in separate operations conducted between January and March 2024.

Among the notable names released by the DHQ are Abu Bilal Minuki, also known as Abubakar Mainok, who served as the Head of Is-Al Furqan Province (ISGS and ISWAP).

Another prominent figure mentioned is Haruna Isiya Boderi, a notorious terrorist operating in the Birnin Gwari Forest area of Kaduna State and along the Abuja-Kaduna Highway. Troops successfully eliminated Boderi on February 21, 2024.

Additionally, the DHQ identified other terrorist leaders, including Kachallah Damina, who was neutralized by troops on March 24, along with over 50 combatants.

Other eliminated terrorist commanders include Kachallah Alhaji Dayi, Kachallah Idi (Namaidaro), Kachallah Kabiru (Doka), Kachallah Azarailu (Farin-Ruwa), Kachallah Balejo, Ubangida, Alhaji Baldu, and several others.

During a briefing in Abuja, the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba disclosed these names to journalists.

He further highlighted the significant achievements of the military during the period, revealing that a total of 2,351 terrorists were killed, 2,308 were arrested, and 1,241 kidnapped hostages were successfully rescued.
