Greek bulker player DryDel Shipping has expanded its fleet with a 2015-built kamsarmax bulker.
The 81,841 dwt Beluga, formerly the Nord Beluga, was delivered in Singapore to DryDel Shipping on Wednesday.
It has been known for some time that the vessel has been bought for $27m but the buyer was described by brokers as an “unknown Greek buyer”. The vessel’s previous owner was Denmark’s Norden.
The vessel is ice-classed and equipped with scrubber technology. It was built in 2015 at Oshima Shipbuilding and, according to the company, the vessel represents a significant milestone for its fleet expansion.
With the inclusion of the Beluga, DryDel’s lists 11 bulkers in its fleet in addition to 19 chartered-in ships and 10 newbuilds set for delivery between 2024 and 2026.
Until recently, the company was known as Meadway Shipping and Trading and was rebranded in February into DryDel Shipping.
