According to the Movement, these polls are manipulated by groups with vested interests in promoting the PDP agenda while discrediting other parties. The most recent poll, purportedly conducted by the African Polling Institute, was broadcast on Arise Television, where Asue Ighodalo appeared to give credibility to the skewed results.

The Movement urges Edo residents to dismiss these misleading polls, pointing out that Asue Ighodalo and the PDP lack genuine popularity. They claim intelligence reports indicate a series of similar fake polls are planned to deceive the public before the upcoming elections. Additionally, the Movement highlights the involvement of certain civil society organizations in raising false alarms, questioning their silence until now.

The Edo Renaissance Movement calls on the people of Edo State to see through these tactics, emphasizing that true popularity is determined by informed voters, not manipulated opinion polls. They look forward to September 21, 2024, which they describe as Edo State’s “New Independence Day,” a day they believe will mark the reclaiming of the state from those who have hijacked it.
