EFCC declares ex-Kogi Governor, Yahaya Bello, wanted
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared a former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, wanted for offences relating to economic and financial crimes.
This was contained in a notice posted on the commission’s official Facebook page on Thursday.
“Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, is wanted by the EFCC for offences relating to economic and financial crimes to the tune of N80.2 bn.
“Anybody with information as to his whereabouts should report immediately to the commission or the nearest police station,” the notice read.
Recall that the EFCC, on Wednesday, sealed off the Abuja residence of former Governor Yahaya Bello.
Sounds of gunshots were heard everywhere as Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State arrived Bello’s residence.
After hours of being unable to secure their mission, the security operatives had reinforced with backup support from the Police and Department of State Services (DSS).
It was gathered that they were planning to forcefully arrest him before the arrival of Governor Ododo.
