Enhanced welfare packages for Police officers essential in fighting crimes — Retired DIG

A Retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG Jubril Olawale Adeniji, underscored the vital role of community involvement in security matters.

He reiterated this during a lecture at the monthly “Ijoko Agba” forum at his Aanu Oluwa Chambers in Lagos.

Speaking to a gathering of elders and community leaders, he emphasised that security is a collective responsibility, not just the duty of law enforcement. Adeniji urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, reinforcing the adage, “see something, say something.”

DIG Jubril Olawale Adeniji advocated for enhanced welfare packages for officers of the Nigeria Police Force, emphasizing their essential role in ensuring public safety.

During a lecture focused on security and the protection of lives and property, Adeniji engaged an audience of industry leaders, community representatives, and traditional rulers, including the Alawowo of Awowo Kingdom, Oba Abdul Gafar Tijani Olasunkanmi, and Chief (Alh) Ganiyu Badmus, the Baale of Olorunsogo.

As Nigeria grapples with ongoing security challenges, the retired DIG’s emphasis on citizen involvement and improved support for law enforcement underscores the need for a united effort to foster a safer society.
