🔹Enzo Maresca on Cole Palmer: “Cole didn’t train yesterday. We will see if he can today. We hope, we need to wait and see to decide [if he is fit to face Arsenal].”
🔹Enzo Maresca on Jadon Sancho: “For sure he is out [vs FC Noah with a knock]. We will see if he can be available for Sunday. If not, after the international break.”
🔹Enzo Maresca: “For me, it’s not a problem in terms of the ones that are playing in the Premier League. They played some games in the Conference League. Marc Cucurella played Panathinaikos away and not in the Premier League. It doesn’t mean they won’t play [if they play in the other competition]. The season is so long and we have so many games.”
🔹Enzo Maresca on FC Noah: “I heard [of them] before the game. To be honest, I didn’t watch games previously. In the last two or three days, we watched different games from them. The Conference League is tricky for us, everyone wants to do the [best] game. We need to be ready.”
🔹Enzo Maresca on Reece James: “No idea to be honest [on potential England call-up due to current workload]. We’re happy in the way he’s progressing with us in terms of his physical condition and the way he’s playing. About international, I have no idea [if he will be selected].”
🔹Enzo Maresca: “I feel a shame about Joao [Felix], but not only about him. I would like to give him more minutes in the Premier League, but we need defensive balance. We cannot play with Joao, Cole [Palmer] and Christopher [Nkunku]. But we need balance between attacking and defending. I’ve no doubt that if Joao [Felix] keeps working well, he will find [minutes] in the Premier League.”
🔹Enzo Maresca on Mykhailo Mudryk: “He’s not playing from the start [all the time] but he is playing. Defensively, there are things he needs to improve, like the rest. It’s difficult to change people. We can try to improve. If you are shy or not shy, that’s something inside of you. Misha, you can see he looks a bit shy. But, overall when he is with us, he’s okay.”
🔹Enzo Maresca: “On the ball, I think our wingers need to arrive in the box. We want our wingers to arrive in the box. At the beginning, they struggled but now they are doing much better.”
🔹Enzo Maresca: “Tyrique [George], for sure [will be involved tomorrow], and Sam Rak-Sakyi too. We will see.”
🔹Enzo Maresca: “Christoph is similar to Joao, if they work in the same way, they will get minutes in the Premier League. Not only about them [two], all of them. If you don’t play Sunday, and we have Thursday [game], if you don’t train well, you don’t play.”
🔹Enzo Maresca on Cole Palmer: “Hopefully he can be fit. The tackle is quite clear, it was not a normal one. Hopefully he can be back.”
