EPL: You’re Not Premier League Great – Piers Morgan Slams EPL manager

Outspoken journalist Piers Morgan has taken aim at departing Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, stating that his record in the Premier League doesn’t warrant the label of “great”, according to Daily Post.

Klopp, who will leave Liverpool after Sunday’s final games, has had a successful tenure at the club, leading them to a Premier League title in 2019-20 and a sixth UEFA Champions League trophy. However, Morgan believes that winning just one league title in eight years doesn’t cut it.

Reacting to a social media post dubbing Klopp a “Premier League great”, Morgan tweeted, “I don’t think winning one League title in 8 years makes you a Premier League great.” The comment has sparked debate among football fans, with some agreeing with Morgan’s assessment and others defending Klopp’s achievements.

Klopp’s legacy at Liverpool is undoubtedly positive, having ended the club’s 30-year wait for a league title and restoring them as a force in European football. However, Morgan’s point about the relatively low number of league titles won during Klopp’s tenure may resonate with some.
