One of the men in the photos believed to be the groom’s father wore an attire identified with the Igbo tribe, spawning the reports that Sanwo-Olu’s daughter married an Igbo man.
However, the fact about the development is that Governor Sanwo-Olu’s daughter’s newly-wedded husband is not an Igbo man.
Modupeoreoluwa’s husband’s name is Oladele: a name identified with the Yoruba people not Igbo.
The white wedding happened a week after his daughter’s very private engagement ceremony took place.
The holy solemnization, which took place at the Cathedral Church of Christ in Lagos, was officiated by the Diocesan Bishop of Lagos, Rt. Revd. Ifedola Gabriel Okupevi.
Reception followed immediately after the exchange of marriage vows.
Among the dignitaries who graced the joyous occasion were Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, Dr. Alex Otti of Abia State, Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State, Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, former Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode etc.
A lawyer by profession, Modupeoreoluwa currently plies her trade at Olaniwun Ajayi, a foremost legal firm in Lagos.
