The 32-year-old defender was a notable figure in Nigerian football, having represented the country in the 2014 Orange African Nations Championship held in South Africa under Coach Stephen Keshi’s leadership.

Esieme showcased his talent and dedication on the field, earning a starter slot in the Super Eagles squad during the tournament. He notably filled the right-back position in the match against Morocco, stepping in for the suspended Solomon Kwambe, who had received a red card in the previous week’s clash against host nation South Africa.
Throughout his career, Esieme demonstrated versatility, showcasing his skills in various positions. In the absence of the injured Benjamin Francis, he played as a left-back against Mozambique. Additionally, he excelled as a holding midfielder in the team’s final game against South Africa.
