Family Releases Mr Ibu’s Bûrial Arrangements

The family of the deceased actor, Mr. Ibu, has disclosed his funeral plans and revealed the scheduled date for his burial.

It could be recall that the late actor passed away on March 2nd, 2024, at the age of 62.

His family announced that Mr. Ibu’s body will be laid to rest in his hometown of Amuri, located in the Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Confirming the announcement, Mr. Ibu’s brother, Elder Sunday Okafor, emphasized that the late comic actor would receive a burial fitting of a hero.

The statement read;

“The Okafor family in Eziokwe Amuri, Nkanu West LGA in Enugu State wishes to honour the loving memory of our hero and a legend John Ikechukwu Okafor who even in death has left a legacy of love, laughter and liveliness.

“We would appreciate your esteemed presence as we lay to rest our son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and in-law on the 28th of June 2024.

“Kindly join us as we share the best and last moments with our icon.”

According to the family statement, the burial ceremony will commence with a high-profile novelty match on Tuesday, June 25th. The following day, Wednesday, June 26th, will feature an event called “Mr. Ibu’s Night,” comprising a candlelight procession and live entertainment.

On June 27th, a Christian wake will be held at his compound in Eziokwe Amuri, Nkanu West. Following that, on June 28th, a funeral service will take place.

The five-day burial ceremony will conclude on Sunday, June 30th, with a church Thanksgiving service attended by friends, family, and well-wishers.
