FUGUS Registrar Denounces Dr. Odoh’s Employment Claims as Fraudulent

FUGUS Registrar Denounces Dr. Odoh’s Employment Claims as Fraudulent

In a scathing statement on Thursday, the Registrar of Federal University Gusau (FUGUS), Yakubu Anivbassa, dismissed claims by Dr. Bernard Odoh regarding his employment at the university, labeling them as “products of fraud.”

Mr. Anivbassa alleged that the documents Dr. Odoh parades as proof of his employment were falsified in collaboration with former university officials, including ex-Registrar Ibrahim Bawa Kaura and a former Vice-Chancellor.

“These documents are products of administrative fraud orchestrated by Dr. Odoh, working in cahoots with the former Vice-Chancellor of the university and the former Registrar, as there is no official record of Dr. Odoh’s employment in the custody of the university,” Mr. Anivbassa stated.

He further accused Mr. Kaura of impersonating the current Registrar by using a fake stamp to validate Dr. Odoh’s documents as “certified true copies” six years after his own disengagement from FUGUS in 2018.

Mr. Anivbassa explained that the certification of public documents is governed by the Evidence Act, 2011, which outlines specific requirements for validation, including payment of fees, proper seals, signatures, and the name and title of the certifying officer.

“A careful perusal of these requirements juxtaposed against the certification of Dr. Odoh’s documents by Ibrahim Bawa Kaura clearly shows that the so-called certified true copies fell short of the provisions of Section 104 of the Evidence Act, 2011, and are therefore not legally tenable,” he said.

He emphasized that Mr. Kaura, having left his position as Registrar in 2018, had no authority to certify documents on behalf of the university, rendering the certifications “illegal, criminal, null and void.”

Dr. Odoh has repeatedly claimed he served as a pioneer Head of the Department of Geology at FUGUS, a claim Mr. Anivbassa categorically refuted.

“Dr. Odoh Bernard Ifeanyi is not and has never been a tenured staff member of the university, let alone being confirmed as a professor by the institution,” the Registrar declared.

He described Dr. Odoh’s assertions as the “antics of a desperate man” attempting to leverage the university’s reputation to achieve his ambition of becoming Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

Mr. Anivbassa also criticized Dr. Odoh’s narrative that his alleged dismissal was due to his state of origin, describing it as a ploy to garner public sympathy.

“Whatever claim to the contrary by Dr. Odoh is nothing but an attempt to use the good name of Federal University Gusau for personal gain,” he concluded.

This statement raises serious allegations of forgery and impersonation, casting doubt on Dr. Odoh’s claims and reigniting scrutiny over his qualifications and ambitions.
