In a horrifying incident, a riverine community in Egan Oriomi Otto Awori Local Council Development Area of Ojo, Lagos, was invaded by over 100 gunmen in the early hours of today. The assailants set fire to several houses, resulting in the tragic death of a one-year-old child who was burnt beyond recognition. Additionally, at least 15 houses were engulfed in flames during the attack.
The gunmen also unleashed violence on the residents, with reports indicating that 10 individuals were shot, while others sustained severe machete cuts on various parts of their bodies. Among the victims is a 90-year-old man, highlighting the indiscriminate nature of the violence perpetrated by the assailants.
According to _Vanguard_, the father of the deceased one-year-old child seen carrying the charred remains of his son, overcome with grief.
