Halisu Sahabi, an Assistant Superintendent with the EFCC, tragically lost his life in an incident that has left many Nigerians shocked and searching for answers. Sahabi was allegedly shot and killed by a medical doctor based in Anambra State, who reportedly acted in self-defense when Sahabi and three others attempted to break into his home. The doctor, armed with a licensed firearm, mistook them for armed robbers.
According to reports, Sahabi was said to be trying to raise money for his wedding, which was just weeks away. The three others who accompanied him were injured during the incident and are currently receiving treatment in a hospital.
The tragedy has raised questions about the actions of Sahabi and his companions, as well as the circumstances that led to this unfortunate confrontation. More than 24 hours after the incident, the EFCC has yet to issue a statement addressing the allegations or providing clarity on the matter.
