“He will sign with Saudi Arabia” – £34m player knows he can’t stay at Chelsea, Todd Boehly wants to send him to Saudi Arabia

One Chelsea player knows he has no future at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have quite a few of their assets out on loan at the moment, including Kepa Arrizabalaga, Romelu Lukaku and Ian Maatsen.

It will now be interesting to see what happens with the trio in the summer.

Maatsen, who is currently at Borussia Dortmund, has already suggested that he could end up staying where he is.

Regarding Lukaku, a permanent transfer to Saudi Arabia looks possible.

Romelu Lukaku’s Chelsea future
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Lukaku knows Roma will not pay €40m (£34m) to sign him permanently in the summer.

At the same time, though, the 30-year-old also knows that he cannot return to Chelsea and stay there, the same outlet claims.

La Gazzetta dello Sport’s report says Todd Boehly could now try and ship Lukaku off to Saudi Arabia, just as he did with Kalidou Koulibaly and Edouard Mendy last summer.

It is a shame, as Lukaku is obviously a capable striker. This season, he has scored 18 goals in 37 appearances for Roma.

What will Todd Boehly do with the Romelu Lukaku money?
If Chelsea can sell Lukaku this summer, then Boehly and the club will be expected to reinvest the money into a new striker.

The Blues continue to be linked with a host of names, including Lukaku’s Roma team-mate Paulo Dybala.

It has been claimed that Chelsea are already collecting information on the 30-year-old as they weigh up making a move for him.

Dybala has been just as good as Lukaku in attack this term, coming up with 19 goal contributions in 20 Serie A games. If Chelsea sign the Argentina international, he could be a great addition to their squad.

Not getting any younger, though, it would be a surprise if the Blues made him a top target. The club have really focused on recruiting players in their early to mid 20s of late.
