Here is a brief HISTORY OF IKA People

The Ika people are recognized as a tribe that is found primarily in Delta State, Nigeria. They traditionally practise Odinala religion as seen among the Igbo. The Ika people can be found in Ika South and Ika North East Local Government Areas of Delta State, and in Igbanke and Ekpon areas of Orhionmwon, Uhunmwonde and Igueben Local Government Areas in Edo State.

The Ika people are an Igboid group found primarily in Delta State Nigeria & Edo State, Nigeria. The Ika people have just two(2) Local Governments; Ika South and Ika North East Local Government Areas of Delta State, and Igbanke and Ekpon areas of Orhionmwon, Uhunmwonde and Igueben Local Government Areas in Edo State. They speak Ika, a dialect of the Igbo language but shares similarities with Benin people. For instance, the Ika language is very similar to Igbo, as even their names bear the same semblance. Ika people also share so much in terms of culture and lifestyle with the Benin people.

The Ika people do not trace their ancestry to common origin. The various clans that make up Ika have many origins some migrated from Igbo land while some came from the old Benin kingdom. Similarities of the language with Igbo suggests very strong Igbo connections

Not ruling out other religions, the Ika people are mainly Christians.
