He’s a frustrated Politician — PDP Governor slams FCT Minister, Wike over comment
Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has labeled the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, a frustrated politician over his recent threat to “put fire” in states governed by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders who supported Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The PDP Governors’ Forum had earlier condemned Wike’s comments.
Addressing the issue while receiving members of the PDP National Working Committee in Bauchi on Tuesday, Governor Mohammed dismissed Wike’s threat, calling it baseless and emphasizing that internal disagreements within the party are not personal.
He further reassured that Bauchi State is strong and capable of addressing any potential challenges, urging party members not to misconstrue internal party disputes.
Mohammed brushed aside the remarks made by his “frustrated” friend, reaffirming their personal relationship and his dedication to effective leadership.
He said: “When we argue, it’s never personal, and no one should misunderstand that. We are united; this is not a splinter group.
“As you can see, we are united in Bauchi. No one can set Bauchi on fire. Bauchi has enough water to put out any fire. My friend who made that comment is simply frustrated. Perhaps I said something that upset him, but it’s not personal.
“My friend remains my friend, my work is my work, and leadership remains leadership.”
The governor also emphasized the importance of party unity to avert the potential collapse of the PDP, acknowledging the party’s significant role in driving much of the country’s development.
During the meeting, PDP National Legal Advisor Kamaldeen Ajibade Adeyemi, SAN, expressed the National Working Committee’s full support for the governor.
“We recognise the need to stand by you,” Adeyemi stated. “Rest assured that the National Working Committee will be prepared to implement any actions decided by the Governors’ Forum.”
