Hon. Alex Kwapnoe commends Mutfwang for resolving Plateau Assembly crisis
Labour Party candidate for Plateau South Senatorial District in the 2023 general elections and former member Plateau State House of Assembly/former commissioner Hon. Alex Kwapnoe has commended the governor of Plateau State,HE. Barrister Caleb Mutfwang and the Plateau State House of Assembly leadership for resolving the conflict that had bedeviled the House since November.
Kwapnoe in a statement said the swearing in of the nine House of Assembly members declared by the Appeal Court, has shown that HE. Mutfwang is a democrat who is willing to make sacrifices for the growth and development of Plateau.
He said: “Those who are afraid that the members may not be inaugurated due to party differences with the Governor, have been shamed and the Governor has shown once again that he is not just a democrat but one who respects the rule of law.
“With the swearing in of the nine members, the State House of Assembly will now function optimally and make laws for the good governance of Plateau State and that is what matters.”
Hon. Kwapnoe appealed to stake holders across divides and other parties to set aside the issue of partisanship and cooperate with the Governor to move the state forward and avoid unnecessary grandstanding that will not be in the interest of our dear State.
“The opposition parties in the state are encouraged to realise that elections are over, it is now time for governance, so it should encourage its other members to cooperate with the state house of assembly, the Governor and the state ,we are too backwards ,we need to quickly move on” he stated.
