House of Reps summons EFCC Chairman, Bobrisky, VeryDarkMan, others corruption allegations

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Bobrisky, and various officials involved in the prosecution of the controversial cross dresser Idris Okunola, popularly known as Bobrisky has been invited by the House of Representatives.

This call to appear follows a letter from Jon Ginger Onwusibe, the Lead Chairman of the joint committee, addressing concerns about alleged corruption within the EFCC and the Nigerian Correctional Service.

Other individuals invited include ACG Ben Rabbi Freedman, the former Controller of Corrections for Lagos Command, Ja’afaru Ahmed, Secretary of the Board, and several Deputy Controllers of Corrections.

Recall that in April, Bobrisky was arrested by the anti-graft agency on six counts related to money laundering and currency mutilation.

During his trial at the Federal High Court in Lagos, Justice Abimbola Awogboro dismissed two of the money laundering charges but sentenced him to six months for currency abuse.

Shortly after his release, controversial social media personalty, Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, shared a leaked audio on Instagram in which Bobrisky claimed that EFCC officials extorted N15 million from him to drop the charges.

VeryDarkMan indicated that he released the audio following Bobrisky’s refusal to repay a loan of N4 million related to the extortion.
