Nigerian Comedian and actor, Babatunde Bernard Tayo, popularly known as Baba Tee, recently shared his perspective on paternity fraud in Nigeria.
In a recent television interview, Baba Tee discussed various reasons contributing to the prevalence of paternity fraud in the country, including issues related to sexual satisfaction and upbringing.
He emphasized that in cases of paternity fraud, the responsibility is always placed on the woman.
Even if a man’s behavior influences a woman’s actions, Baba Tee believes the blame cannot be shifted to him.
He challenged the notion that husband infidelity or domestic abuse justifies paternity fraud, encouraging women to prioritize their well-being and leave marriages marked by abuse or adultery.
Demonstrating his compassionate side, Baba Tee expressed that he would accept a child who is not biologically his if his spouse regretted her actions and sought forgiveness for cheating.
In his words:
“Women can’t use domestic violence or infidelity on the part of their spouses as an excuse for paternity fraud. If a man is not treating you well, walk out of the marriage.
“When it comes to paternity fraud, the woman is always at fault. You can’t shift the blame to the man because men don’t conceive. As a woman, if you know you can’t tolerate your husband’s maltreatment or infidelity, leave the marriage.
“Personally, there is nothing I can’t keep for a woman who is good to me. If a woman cheats on me and a child comes out of it and I find out, I will forgive her if she is remorseful. I will take the child as my own.”
Reacting to the post, a Facebook user, Walshak Kos, advised him not to be too sure until he has been in the situation.
