“I love it here” – Timo Werner hopes to remain at Spurs, awaits club’s decision
RB Leipzig loanee Timo Werner has expressed interest for a permanent stay at Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the current campaign.
Werner who returned to England on a season-long loan deal from Leipzig hopes his buy option clause would be triggered at the end of the season.
The 28-year-old German forward has been in a brazing form since his arrival, with five-goal contributions.
With 11 games for Ange Postecoglou’s side so far, the former Chelsea star has notched home 2 goals, while providing three assists.
He was also instrumental to Spurs 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
In his post-match interview, Werner said he would be happy to stay at Tottenham.
“I’m enjoying it a lot. Playing with this team, these teammates, in this style and in this stadium… I love it here!”
He awaits the club’s decision on his buy option clause worth €17m.
