“Michael Jackson was my very good friend. I always hung out with him and talked and Mike didn’t even know he was Michael Jackson because he was very humble a man. So one day we were talking and he told me with his soft voice: ‘Hey man! I need to go church. Can you take me to church?’ And I said yeah mehn. And he says: ‘Steve, I don’t want people to know that I’m in church cuz they’ll get dîstracted, I just want to have some personal time with God in church.’ So I called at the First AME Épiscopal Church and told them that Michael Jackson wants the come to this church. And so I called Michael Jackson and said, I’m gonna come pick you up so we can go to church. So when I picked him up and we were on our way to church, he was like: ‘Do they have a great choir?’ And I was like yeah we’ll see. But somehow the preacher told people that Michael Jackson was coming to his church. And the word spread so fast that people from Belgium, Argentina, Ansterdam and signs from everywhere came to that church not to pray but to see Michael Jackson go to church. So now it took us a long time to get to church because we now had to use a police escort due to the crowded streets. And when we get to the church, it was packed, it was too full. And it was just a regular Sunday but everyone came there for Michael. But Michael Jackson was ãngry because they weren’t there to pray to God but to see him. So I got him in the back with the preacher and after they were done talking, we left early to come back another day because Michael said people won’t pray as long as they keep on seeing him.”~ Steve Harvey
