Jubilations as Chelsea received green light to sign £51m rated Bundesliga star – and it’s not Jamal Musiala

Chelsea will be busy in the summer transfer window once again this year after yet another Premier League season full of inconsistency and below-par performances.

Mauricio Pochettino’s first season at Stamford Bridge hasn’t gone to the plan that Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital would have expected after splashing millions on the likes of Moises Caicedo, Christopher Nkunku and Cole Palmer.

The Blues currently sit ninth in the Premier League table on 44 points. They have two games in hand over the teams above them meaning they could still secure European football with maximum points.

Chelsea haven’t lost a game of football in 90 minutes since Wolves ran out 4-2 winners at Stamford Bridge at the start of February. They also remain within a shout of winning the FA Cup.

Pochettino’s future is still unclear ahead of the summer, but that hasn’t stopped the recruitment department at Cobham preparing for the transfer window. The Blues are expected to bring in a midfielder, centre back and striker for the 2024/25 season.

Recently, Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala has emerged as a probable candidate, though Manchester City have been tipped to sign the Germany international. Fortunately for Chelsea, the possibility of bringing in another Bundesliga star could be on the cards.

According to German journalist Christian Falk, RB Leipzig playmaker Dani Olmo is considering moving to England. The Spaniard has been constantly tipped with a move to the Premier League in the past and it could finally happen this year.

Speaking in his column for CaughtOffside, he said: “Olmo is currently looking at England. His release clause would not be a hurdle for the rich Premier League clubs. The hottest lead at the moment leads to Manchester City. Olmo is on the list at the Sheikh Club.”

He later went on to add: “But City has competition: Tottenham also has their eye on Olmo, as do Manchester United and Chelsea. However, both clubs would probably not be a good choice at the moment due to their sporting imbalance.”

Olmo reportedly has a £51million release clause in his contract at Leipzig.
