JUST IN; PDP Governor begs FCT Minister, Wike not to set fire in his State
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has pleaded with the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike to refrain from actions that could destabilise his state.
This plea comes in response to Wike’s recent comments threatening to ignite political unrest in any State should any PDP governor support Sim Fubara’s takeover of the party’s structures in Rivers State.
Makinde made the appeal during a reception held on September 28, 2024, by the Ijaw World Congress in Port Harcourt.
He acknowledged Wike’s contributions to Rivers State and highlighted the importance of maintaining political stability.
Makinde said: ” I came from Oyo to identify with my brother and the celebrant of today(Nyesome Wike). When I showed up in Rivers yesterday (Friday) I told him that I brought a peace offering because he has been boasting that he would put fire in some states. I told him please, don’t set fire in Oyo State.
“Let me say on behalf of other governor colleagues and past governors here that you have done well for your people and since I came I have seen projects that were done during your eight years tenure as governor.”
