Lagbaja, one of finest Military officers Nigeria ever produced NSA Ribadu – Crime Channels
On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, visited the Defence and Army Headquarters in Abuja to offer condolences following the death of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja.
The late General passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2024, in Lagos.
Ribadu was accompanied by Maj.-Gen. Adamu Laka, the National Coordinator of the National Counter-terrorism Centre, and other senior officials from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
Together, they met with the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Christopher Musa, and the Acting Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, to express their sympathy and solidarity.
In a heartfelt tribute, Ribadu hailed Lt.-Gen. Lagbaja as a distinguished leader and one of Nigeria’s finest military officers.
He commended the late General’s unwavering dedication to his soldiers, the Armed Forces, and the nation. “We have lost one of our finest,” Ribadu said.
“Lt.-Gen. Lagbaja was a man of immense character and devotion. While he has been called to a higher calling, we will continue to honor his legacy and remember his extraordinary contributions to our country’s security.”
The NSA also conveyed his condolences to President Bola Tinubu, acknowledging the profound loss felt by the nation’s leadership.
“This is a heavy loss, not just for the President, but for all Nigerians. We are grateful for the life of service Lt.-Gen. Lagbaja led and for the dedication he showed to the safety and well-being of our nation,” Ribadu added.
During his visit, Ribadu signed the condolence registers at both the Defence and Army Headquarters, paying his respects to the late General’s memory and reaffirming the nation’s gratitude for his remarkable service.
