Due to his contract expiration in 2025, Brentford intend to move the striker this summer.

Updates on Manchester United’s transfer situation

Even though West Ham and Newcastle were interested in Toney, Chelsea and Arsenal had been in the lead for a while.

As interest from Arsenal and Chelsea has waned compared to earlier in the year, United are reportedly in the hunt and could possibly be leading, according to the Express.

Toney was a highly sought-after commodity during the January transfer window, with Chelsea and Arsenal both interested in acquiring his services.

Although Brentford kept the 28-year-old on the team, manager Thomas Frank has now acknowledged that Toney’s sale at season’s conclusion is almost certain.

During the summer transfer window, acquiring a top striker has been a primary priority for Chelsea, Arsenal, and Newcastle.

Toney may be at the top of the two London clubs’ lists of potential targets, but they also have other players in mind. Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres are among them.

This summer, United would also like to add an experienced striker to their roster to alleviate some of the pressure on youthful Rasmus Hojlund.

His estimated market value is close to €60 million.

Toney returns after ban

After sitting out the first half of the season because to a betting ban, Toney got back in the lineup in January.

Since then, he’s been on a decent run, with four goals in thirteen games.

As an understudy to Harry Kane, Toney aspires to attend Euro 2024.
