Man Utd and Man City stars left out as former England man predicts Euro 2024 squad

When predicting the England squad for Euro 2024, Joe Cole omits two unexpected names.
England under Gareth Southgate will start the competition as one of the favorites.

Two prominent players are absent from Joe Cole’s predicted England squad for the forthcoming Euro 2024.

This summer’s competition will be held in Germany as Gareth Southgate attempts to improve upon last year’s results.

Italy defeated England on penalties in front of a crowded Wembley stadium the last time around.

England will go into the tournament once more as one of the favorites to win it all as summer quickly approaches.

Now, everyone’s attention will be on Southgate’s choices when he has to name his provisional squad on May 21.

When predicting the Euro squad, former Chelsea and England player Cole omitted two prominent players.

Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish might not make the cut, according to Cole.

Cole stated, “It sounds ridiculous, but the players’ character comes into the thinking and what it means to them,” as quoted by the Daily Star.

“Marcus Rashford is someone I really admire; he’s accomplished a lot in his career, but for some reason, he sometimes goes on runs where people start doubting him again. Marcus should only be taken, in my opinion, if you plan to start him. I wouldn’t start him ahead of [Phil] Foden, [Harry] Kane, or [Bukayo] Saka because of his age, which I believe is where his head is at this time.

“This is not a criticism of his abilities or character, but given his current circumstances at United and his stage of life, I believe he may be the one left out,” he continued. Additionally, as much as I adore Jack Grealish, how can you pick him ahead of someone who is performing consistently and is match fit, like [Jarrod] Bowen or [James] Maddison?

Cole responded, “I would go with Toney, he’s got the mindset and something in him that tells me he can play for England,” in response to a question concerning who could start up front for England alongside Harry Kane. Being the most composed person on the planet also plays a role in the fact that he won’t be freaking out over a penalty.
