Muhammed-Ali assumes office as new AIG Zone 1 AIG

The new Assistant Inspector General of Police in-charge of Zone 1, Kano, AIG Ari Muhammed-Ali, has assumed office with a promise to ensure peace and order in the zone.

AIG Muhammad-Ali, made the promise in Kano on Thursday, shortly after he was received by the Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Garba and other management staff in the zone.

Muhammad-Ali, who resumed as the 24th Assistant Inspector General of Police zone 1, assured the people of the zone of his commitment to entrench peace and tranquility.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the zone comprises Kano and Jigawa states.

NAN also reports that the new AIG, took over from the outgoing AIG Muhammad Sanda.

The AIG charged officers and men of Kano Command to remain vigilant and proactive in ensuring the security of lives and property.

He emphasised the need for the police to be polished in all aspects to achieve the objectives of modern policing.

Muhammad-Ali also stressed the importance of adopting modern strategies to combat crime and corruption towards promoting a peaceful society.

He charged them to remain apolitical and adhere to Nigerian policing rules and regulations, by maintaining the spirit of honesty and dedication to service.

The Commissioner of Police in Kano State, CP Salman Dogo, who welcomed the new AIG spoke glowingly of his capacity to deliver.

Dogo also outlined some of his archivements to include implementing various security strategies since assuming duty.

“These efforts have led to the arrest of suspected armed robbers and recovery of stolen items.”

The CP noted that in spite.of the successes recorded, the command faces lots of challenges such as shortage of vehicles for patrols and inadequate manpower, particularly junior officers. (NAN)
